Scope Conditions is a podcast featuring cutting-edge research in comparative politics, hosted by political scientists Alan Jacobs (University of British Columbia) and Yang-Yang Zhou (Dartmouth College). Episodes range widely across themes and regions of the world. In each episode, we talk with the author of a new or forthcoming book or paper, with a particular focus on innovative empirical research by emerging scholars. The conversations on Scope Conditions will speak to both substance and method: what these scholars have found and how they have found it.

Scope Conditions’ intended audience includes researchers, educators, graduate and advanced undergraduate students, and policy practitioners with an interest in the social scientific study of politics around the world.

Funding is provided by the UBC Department of Political Science, Dartmouth College Department of Government, and the APSA Centennial Center.
